Fall 2022

Max shot his first two bucks...archery and rifle...and we had several epic waterfowl hunts.

Spring 2022

Tried a new spot for the spring spread and it turned out pretty well!

Fall 2021

Meyer shot his first deer and we dug a big hole.

The end of an era...  RIP Don Kees, 10/4/1944 - 1/28/2021

Fall 2020

Youth movement. Great to see kids wanting to hunt and making memories!

Spring 2020

COVID-19...not much else to say.  The first full week of school closings in SD and MN offered a chance for a few families to hunker down and reconnect after a long winter.  From there the season was torn apart by social distancing.  We did manage to have a few fun hunts and Max shot his first snow goose so the season wasn't a total loss.

So...much...water...

Finally in the new lodge and making new memories!

Summer 2016 Lodge Construction

The Summer 2016 project was all about building out a new lodge. You can see the progress and final result in this online album:

Spring 2016

Less about the hunting and more about remodeling the house to be our home.

Fall of 2015

We got a sweet new sign, had a great pheasant hunt down at Wells Preserve, and still managed some fun in Canada and back home too.

Spring of 2015

One of the best seasons we've had recently in terms of decoying success. We had several large flocks suck down tight to our spread, both in the pit and mobile. Overall harvest numbers were up, but could have been much higher with more hunters with us.  We probably only averaged about 3 guns.

Fall of 2014

We had a hard and early freeze but the few mallards that stuck around sure were fun.

Fall of 2013

It was a tough season for migration as most of the birds held up north until Thanksgiving and then moved through very quickly. We still managed to have some fun and get some birds. It was just tough finding green most days.

Fall of 2012

We had a great typical migration of birds this fall and were able to use our new pit on several occasions.

Spring of 2012

Our first action in the new pit!

Fall of 2011

A great fall of waterfowl hunting.  We hunted in a lot of different places that presented several different situations.  One of our last hunts of the year was in an old pit that inspired us to tear it out and put in a fancy new one for the upcoming season.
